Built by someone who still does the work.
SC Cloud Services LLC is a small, owner-operated cloud infrastructure and managed IT firm based in Richmond, Texas. No account managers standing between you and the engineer — just direct, accountable work.
Our story
Infrastructure discipline shouldn't require a full internal team.
Most growing businesses land in an awkward middle: too much infrastructure to run on instinct, not enough scale to justify hiring a dedicated cloud and security team. That gap is why SC Cloud Services exists.
We work as the infrastructure partner a company would build in-house if it had the budget and the time — designing, migrating, and managing cloud environments the same way we'd manage our own. That means fixed-scope engagements instead of open-ended retainers, security configured by default instead of sold as an add-on, and a named engineer who answers the phone instead of a ticket queue.
We're a small firm by choice. It's what makes direct accountability possible.
Why we operate this way
Enterprise cloud practices — real backup testing, least-privilege access, documented change control — used to be reserved for companies with the headcount to run them. Cloud platforms removed the cost barrier. We remove the expertise barrier.
What drives the work
Mission and vision.
Mission
To design, migrate, and manage secure cloud infrastructure for growing businesses — so their teams spend time on the business, not on keeping the lights on.
Vision
A future where mid-sized companies operate with the same infrastructure discipline, security posture, and reliability as organizations many times their size — without carrying the overhead of building it themselves.
Core values
The principles behind every engagement.
These aren't wall art. They're the things clients can hold us to.
Direct accountability
Every engagement has a named engineer attached to it, not a support queue. If something breaks, you know exactly who to call, and so do we.
Security-first defaults
Encryption, least-privilege access, and monitoring are configured on day one of every project — not quoted separately as an upgrade later.
Vendor-neutral advice
We recommend the platform that fits your workload — Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud — based on what your business actually needs, not on which vendor pays us more to sell it.
Transparent SLAs
Uptime targets and response times are written into the contract in plain language, and we tell you where we stand against them — good or bad.
Straight talk
If your environment has a real problem, you'll hear it from us plainly, with a plan to fix it — not a sales pitch dressed up as a recommendation.
How we work
The same process, every engagement.
No two environments are identical, but the approach doesn't change.
Understand what's actually running
We review your current environment honestly — architecture, security posture, backup coverage, and cost — before recommending anything.
Build a plan scoped to your business
A fixed-scope plan with clear deliverables, timelines, and cost — matched to your compliance and uptime requirements, not a generic template.
Execute with minimal disruption
Cutovers are planned around your business hours, tested in advance, and rolled back cleanly if something doesn't go to plan.
Manage it like it's ours
Ongoing monitoring, patching, and backup testing — with a named engineer who already knows your environment when something needs attention.
Leadership
The person behind the work.
Stephanie C. Schumann
Owner & Founder, SC Cloud Services LLC
Stephanie founded SC Cloud Services to give growing businesses the kind of infrastructure discipline that's usually reserved for companies with a full internal IT department. Her background is hands-on cloud and systems administration — the kind of work where you're the one troubleshooting a failed migration at midnight, not just presenting a slide about one.
That hands-on approach carries through to how the company operates today. She's personally involved in how client environments are architected, reviews the security posture of every engagement, and stays reachable rather than delegating client relationships away entirely as the company grows.
Her view is simple: infrastructure work is a craft, and a company that stops doing the work itself stops being any good at overseeing it.
Why SC Cloud Services
What working with us actually looks like.
Not every managed services conversation matches the sales pitch once the contract is signed. Here's what's actually true about how we operate.
- You reach an engineer directly — no offshore call center hand-offs
- Fixed-scope proposals with deliverables and timelines you can hold us to
- Recommendations based on your workload, not a vendor partnership incentive
- Backups that are actually restored in drills, not just scheduled and forgotten
- Documentation thorough enough to survive an audit or a staff turnover
